Another whirlwind week and weekend have passed. I have relaxed yesterday and today. Henry seems to have caught my cold and hasn't been able to rest because of the congestion and coughing. He did take a nap with me in my chair this afternoon. We'll see what tomorrow brings.
Hope you all have a good week. |

addicted!
in doing some self-analysis this weekend, i realized that i am addicted to the good, loving feelings that i get when i take care of Henry. the quantity of euphoric highs over the last 8 weeks has changed. instead of spending all day with him, i only have an hour in the morning and maybe two hours in the evening. i was so used to those heart-warming feelings that i didn't realize i'd miss them when i went back to work because i didn't experience that with Clara. it's good to realize the loss and sadness that i'm feeling can be explained and is rational. it's also good to realize how much i love being a mother and how blessed i am to have my two kids. my heart overflows...

we're back to the real world.
Clara and Henry went to day care on Monday and I went back to work. I did well yesterday but tonight the drained feeling has come and I just want to crawl in bed.

Good Morning everyone. It is 5am here in Kansas City and I can't sleep. I can't believe I can't sleep. Oh well...
I am here in Kansas City working on a project for the hospital. It has been a good trip so far, but I am ready to be heading home. I don't get into DTW until 9 or 10 Thursday night and that depends on how this weather holds out.
It is cold and windy here, probably everything that we will see back home the next couple days.
Progress is being made on the shed. Mike has the poles set and trusses up.
Henry is doing well... at least from the reports I have been getting from Erin. Erin, Henry and Clara went to Edgerton for the week so that Erin could have some help while I was gone. She said that Clara has not done as well using the bathroom as she had at home. Hopefully this won't be a prolonged regression on the potty training.
Hope everyone is doing well. Later

Henry Has Arrived!!!
Sorry for the great delay in getting Gerschutz.com updated. I have finally found a few minutes to get it up to date, well with at least Henry's stuff. I still have some more picture of Clara to publish yet too.
So much has happened since last Thursday. We had one false alarm run to the hospital and a midnight drive by Grandma Peg (thanks Mom!!!). Then on Sunday the real thing. Henry Allen Gerschutz was born at 9:50pm on 11/8/09. He weighed 7lbs 11oz and was 20 inches long. We came home from the hospital on Tuesday. Henry is very calm and relaxed. He only gets upset when he is hungry. Totally different than Clara ever was.
On top of all that we have start work on our shed. They poured the piers today and tomorrow Dad and I will be working with Mike to get the trenches for power and water put in. Hopefully we will be able to get it done before the Buckeyes Play.
Hope all is well with everyone. I will try to get some more pictures soon.
